Special Water Quality Warning for the Little River
Elevated levels of human-sourced bacteria have be detected in the waters of the Little River, located at the East end of GRB.
Due to the frequent presence of “flag” bacteria (enterococci – which is not specific to humans, but may indicate the presence of human), the mouths of both Little River and the Batson River are permanently posted by the Town as areas where water contact should be avoided, especially for children and any immunocompromised individuals. The detection of human-source bacteria add an additional level of warning to this standing advisory.
