Sex Offenders

The Sex Offender Registry Web Site is maintained by the Maine State Police, State Bureau of Identification and is intended to provide the public information concerning the location of registered offenders currently within Maine. To learn more about what information will be provided, please read the Frequently Asked Questions.

The Registry does not contain information on all individuals that have been convicted of sex crimes. Information is only provided for those individuals that are required to register pursuant to Title 34-A MRSA, Chapters 15 and 17. Registration is limited to those individuals sentenced for a qualifying offense.

The registration information contained on this website will be updated on a daily basis to reflect the most current information on file with the State Bureau of Identification. The date the Registry last updated is displayed on each page. Registrants are required to verify their address on a periodic basis and upon a change of address. Upon a request for more information on a particular registrant, the date the Registrant last updated is indicated next to the registrant's address. Registrants may, however, have moved and failed to notify the State Bureau of Identification of their change of address. Information regarding a Maine-convicted registrant who moved out of state will remain available on Maine's Sex Offender Registry until his/her obligation to register has expired. However, information from the registrant may not be updated in Maine once the registrant has relocated to another state. Therefore, information regarding a registrant identified as "moved out of state" may not be current and should not be relied upon. If you are seeking information regarding a registrant who has moved out of Maine, you may wish to search the National Sex Offender Public website at https://www.nsopw.gov/en-us. Therefore the State Bureau of Identification cannot guarantee the accuracy of the listed address. The Registry updates this information regularly in an effort to assure that the information on the Registry is complete and accurate; however, the Registry makes no representation, express or implied, that the information contained on the Registry is accurate. Neither the State Bureau of Identification nor the State of Maine shall be responsible for any errors or omissions produced by secondary dissemination of this data.
