Meeting called to order via zoom at 6:30.

Present: Jennifer Comeau, Joe Frank, Jenne James, Gillet Page and Carol Laboissonniere

 

1. Review of Commission’s ongoing activity list

2. Review of Commission’s educational material inventory by Carol L.

a. (500) - “Lawns for Lobsters” brochures 

b. (675) - “Lawns for Lobsters” stickers

c. (60) - blank cards for attaching stickers to 

d. (15)  - 12” spikes to attach to card and stick in ground

3. Discussion of York’s Lawns2Lobseters program and how Eldredge Lumber carries only all organic products

4. Report on Portland Pesticide Management Advisory Committee meeting of 1/5/21 and topic of pesticide and fertilizer land use regulations.

5. Discussion on proceeding with educational aspects of organic lawn care.

6. Discussion on proceeding with educational aspects of climate action.

7. Decision made for Jennifer and Jenne to work on educational material and plans.

8. Discussion of Commission’s Facebook page. Joe to review and supply Jennifer with access.

9. Discussion on plastic usage. Gill to monitor the situation.

10. Discussion on swimming pool discharge. Gill will get document from Nik Charov of Wells Reserve.

11. Carol L. to follow up with Parks and Rec re fertilizer/pesticide treatments and speak with Bryce.

12. Carol L. to check with Kennebunk Conservation Commission re any plans for fertilizer and/or pesticide regulations.

13. Next meeting 2/8/2021 at 6:30 via zoom.
