Healthy Guidelines During This Difficult Time
Protect yourself against COVID-19 video.
Stay home if you feel sick.
Stay home if you are in the high-risk group: older adults and those with heart disease, diabetes, and lung disease. Only go out if necessary.
Practice social distancing (keep at least 6 feet away from other people) and avoid crowds.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. (Singing Happy Birthday song twice is 20 seconds.)
Clean your hands with and alcohol-based, hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water isn’t an option.
Cover your coughs and sneezes with your upper arm or tissue (and throw away the tissue). Ensure family members are familiar with these practices.
Avoid touching your face, eyes, and mouth.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces in your home such as: light switches; knobs on door, cupboards, and oven controls; handles for faucet and toilet; counters; tables; and electronic devices: tv remote control, phones, tablets, and computers keyboards and mouse.
Clean and sanitize the inside of your car: steering wheel, door handles, radio dials, shift lever, any buttons or touch screens, passenger and driver door armrest, wiper and turn signal stalks, and seat adjusters. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners on car touch screens as they can damage their coatings.
Use a barrier such as tissue when touching ATM or elevator buttons.
Use your own pen or stylus for transactions.
