This includes a wide range of concerns including but not exclusive: dangerous buildings, faulty septic systems, safe drinking water, animal /insect borne diseases, communicable diseases, lodging and food safety. The Health Officer is charged with enforcing federal and state laws, policy and safe practices. Since 911, the role of a Maine Health Officer has expanded to include responsibility for community preparedness and response in the event of a disaster. Please direct your concerns to the Health Officer Judy Barrett, R.N. B.S. or Assistant Health Officer Alison Kenneway, R.N. B.S.N. 967-4401.
