On September 24, 2015, Officers Nathan Jones and Jason Hafner were honored with lifesaving awards at the selectmen’s meeting in Kennebunkport. The award was presented by Chief Craig Sanford as family members and co-workers looked on.

“Each officer directly contributed to saving the life of an individual in the Town of Kennebunkport”, said Chief Sanford. Officer Jones assisted with CPR which eventually had a positive outcome for the patient. Officer Hafner found a lost Autistic child that was stuck in a salt marsh suffering from hypothermia.

The officers were given awards along with a lifesaving medal to be worn on their uniform. “I am proud of them for their great work and professionalism”, said Chief Sanford. “They are part of a great team and we all work hard to serve the community. To acknowledge the success of their mission was an honor for me as their Chief.”
