KENNEBUNKPORT POLICE GIVE RSU FIFTH GRADE STUDENTS TOUR OF STATION - APRIL 12, 2016

The Kennebunkport Police Department invited RSU 21’s fifth grade class for a field trip to the police station on Tuesday, April 12th. The students were given a tour of the station, discussed how police officers help people in the community. They were shown various police equipment along with one of the police cruisers and the equipment, lights and sirens in the vehicle. They toured dispatch and learned how important it is to call 911 in an emergency and ways to protect themselves and how to avoid dangerous situations. They learned the duties of a police officer and participated in a mock police investigation. After the tour they all enjoyed refreshments and Seadog biscuits that were generously donated by Shain’s of Maine in Sanford.
