While staying in a hotel, the victim receives a phone call claiming to be from the front desk. The caller says that there is a problem with the guest’s credit card and asks the guest to provide all of the card information over the phone. The guest is asked to provide the credit card number, expiration date, 3 digit verification code, billing address, account holder name and phone number.

If you are a hotel guest and you receive a phone call asking for any personal or financial information, hang up the phone and go to the hotel registration desk to verify that there is a problem. Please don’t give your information over the phone to anyone.
