Introductions
The Commission welcomed new member Abby Ettelman as a youth representative from Kennebunkport.  There was only one regular Commission member in attendance in addition to our departing member, Stephanie.  Introductions were made all around.  Abby has already made her mark on the Commission by making a motion that whoever is not in attendance at a YSC meeting needs to bring cookies to the next meeting!

Review of Minutes
Minutes from May 10th approved and accepted.

Farewell party for Stephanie
We did not address any business as we only had one regular Commission member present.  We had a goodbye party for Stephanie.  Dolores made a delicious chocolate and coconut cake in spite of being sick and unable to attend the party!  Commissioners gave Stephanie a card and a gift certificate to Bed and Bath to outfit her dorm room at Mount Holyoke College.  We had an interesting discussion about the nature and place of awards in our educational system.  Stephanie earned several prestigious awards and scholarships.  As she pointed out, being awarded the scholarships required a lot of commitment and work on her part.

Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be announced.  We will meet in August if there are enough Commissioners available to meet.  If not, we will meet next on Wednesday, September 13, from 5- 6.  
·       Rachel will email Commissioners in early August to see who is available to meet in August.
