The laboratory results are in for August 31, 2010
All of Goose Rocks Beach and Colony Beach test site results are within acceptable levels. Both beaches and the mouths of the Little, Batsons and Smith Rivers are open for water contact.
The town of Kennebunkport participates in the Healthy Maine Beaches Program, which is a cooperative partnership to test the water quality of Maine beaches. Volunteers take tests once each week. If tests identify elevated bacteria levels, the public is notified to avoid water contact. Next sample date is August 31, 2010

It’s official—K’Port is now a No Discharge Zone for boaters. Boaters please use and encourage your boating friends to use the FREE pump-out in the Kennebunk River.
Labor Day ends the Healthy Maine Beach Program 2010 season. An advisory was posted at Goose Rocks Beach 16 days. The highest bacteria count was on 7/14 at the mouth of the Batson Smith River- 7701. A 7 day advisory was in place for Colony Beach. The highest count was 187 on 6/2.
