In an effort to insure that "no one will be denied access to a program due to inability to pay", we have instituted an installment plan for some of our larger programs. Requests for installment plans must be made in person or in writing to the Director of Parks & Recreation. Payment must be received in full by the date noted on the form, and in the case of programs such as the summer day camp, payments must be made prior to the delivery of service.
Participants must notify Kennebunkport Parks & Recreation if they drop a program. Full refunds will be processed if the department cancels a program, and refunds (minus a small administrative fee) will be issued if the participant withdraws without attending even once. After that, refunds will be prorated based upon the amount of involvement prior to dropping out, expenses incurred by the department in the participant's behalf, or if the participant is removed for disciplinary reasons.
The administering of internal medicines is the responsibility of the physician or the parent. If it is necessary for a recreation program participant to receive any internal medication during a program, there must be a signed physician's order or an "Agreement to Administer Medication" form signed by the parent or guardian. This form is available to all program participants prior to the start of any program.
Program staff members/volunteers are expected to wait until all participants have been picked up. Late fees are collected in the summer day camp and the Kennebunkport After School Adventure programs. Our late policy for persons later than the set ending time is $1 for each 5 minutes, payable immediately to the person on site.
Field trips are definitely a highlight of our summer day camp and our vacation planning. Anyone who cannot attend a trip due to space limitations or disciplinary action should not attend that day. Unless otherwise noted, all staff members attend the field trips, no staff members remain at the school/camp.
Program cancellations will be handled by a message on the recreation department telephone at 967-4304, on our website, and on StormCenter 6 if appropriate. If school is cancelled or dismissed early due to bad weather, all recreation activities using their facilities are also canceled.
