Q: What are your hours?
A: The police station is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q: In an emergency, what do I do?
A: Call 9-1-1.

Q: In the event of a non-emergency, what number should I call?
A: 967-2454.

Q: Who can I talk to about my parking ticket?
A: Lieutenant Kurt Moses.

Q: Can I park my RV in the town parking lot? at the beach?
A: RVs and vehicles in tow are not allowed to park in the Municipal Lot (paid parking downtown) or the Town Parking Lot (on North St) or at Goose Rocks Beach.

Q: How do I get a fire permit for Vaughn's or Cape Island?
A: You first have to obtain a camping permit from the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust (applications for permits are found at Bradbury Bros Market). With the camping permit in hand, someone over the age of 18 with Photo ID can obtain a fire permit for Vaughn's or Cape Island on the day they wish to use said permit.

Q: When are dogs allowed on Goose Rocks Beach?
A: Between June 15 and Sept 15, dogs are allowed on the beach (provided they're on a leash) before 8.30 AM or after 6 PM.

Q: Where do I get a Goose Rocks Beach sticker, and how much do they cost?
A: You can purchase a GRB sticker at either the Town Office or the Police Dept, and the cost is $3 for residents (with vehicle registration shown at time of purchase), and non-resident passes are $5 for the day, $20 for the week, and $50 for the season.

Q: Can I have a bonfire on the beach?
A: No, you but you can request a cookfire permit for a particular day from 5PM to 11PM.  At the police station, we issue small campfire permits before 8PM on the day you'd like to have the fire.  You need someone over the age of 18 with Photo ID to obtain a permit and have the fire; no alcohol is allowed on the beach, and you are required to pick up all debris and waste when you leave.

Q: There are seals on the beach, what should I do?
A: Do not touch or approach the animal.  Call the Police Dept or the Marine Animal Lifeline at their Rescue Hotline: (207) 851-6625.

Q: What do I do about a fox or skunk in my yard?
A: You can hire one of our area's animal catchers, there is nothing the police can do about it.  Our Animal Control Officer only handles domestic animals: dogs, cats, and birds.

Q: Does Kennebunkport have a town dump or recycling center?
A: Kennebunkport does not, trash is picked up on particular days throughout the week and more information on that can be found using the town's website.  Kennebunk has a recyclying center on Sea Rd (207) 985-4811.  

Q: How do I dispose of old paint cans, and other such materials?
A: All these materials are disposed of on a yearly basis.  Contact the Kennebunk Recycling Center at (207) 985-4811.

Q: How do I dispose of old flags?
A: You can bring them to the Police Station where they will be stored until there is a flag ceremony held at the American Legion Hall (across the street) where they will properly dispose of the flags.
