REIMBURSEMENT FOR
RESPONSE TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SPILLS
AND DISCHARGES INCLUDING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS

PURPOSE    
To regain expenses for equipment use, manpower and equipment expended during operations involved with accidental discharges of petroleum products and listed or suspected hazardous materials.

AUTHORITY  
38 MRSA 1318-A Recovery by the State and municipalities for expenditures for removal of discharges.

SCOPE             
The Kennebunkport Fire Department will present to the person or persons who have had an accidental discharge of petroleum product or hazardous materials or are responsible for creating an incident which was required to be treated as a hazardous material incident, a bill for services rendered. Invoicing will begin after the first initial hour at a per hour rate.

RATES
Manpower will be charged at the established rates for Kennebunkport Fire Department Personnel including all benefits that are paid by the Town of Kennebunkport.

Town owned fire equipment will be charged at the existing Federal Emergency Management Agency Response and Recovery Directorate Infrastructure Division Schedule of Equipment Rates. A fee of 3% of the total bill will be added to the bill to recover cost of administration

Expended materials will be charged at the replacement cost of said materials
